Keep learning something new at every turn of the age. This will not only keep your brain safe from diseases, but you will remain young at all ages.

The story is very popular that an elder started learning the Chinese language. He was over 80 years old. When he reached the learning class to learn Chinese, all the young students present there started laughing after seeing him. One of them said, “It takes more than 5 years to learn Chinese. Then why did you start learning it?" The old man replied hurriedly, because I am still young. Hearing this, everyone started laughing out loud. To this the old man said, 'The day a person stops learning, he becomes old. I am trying to learn a new language, so I am young.' Experts say that by continuing the process of learning, a person remains young in his mind (impact of learning on mental health) despite old age. It can also be protected from brain related diseases that come with age.

What does research say

According to research conducted at the University of Exeter, UK, learning at every stage of age helps a person to remain mentally healthy in later life. In this research, data was collected from more than 2,000 mentally fit people over the age of 65 years.

In this it was found that people who kept learning something or the other even in youth and middle age of life, they were more mentally fit for a long time. They were also less likely to have diseases like dementia. Researchers said that by engaging in different types of activities, the chances of staying healthy of the body as well as the brain increase.

How activities keep the brain healthy

According to the researchers, some people engage in different types of and new activities and use the brain. They take up the challenge using different strategies. They use different networks, so they have a high cognitive reserve.

This creates a buffer in the brain, allowing the brain to become more flexible. When this buffer is absent, there are signs of disease or decay. ,

Forget gained experience while learning

The world famous psychiatrist Jerome Brunner gave his theory on the learning process. He said that while learning, forget your old acquired experience. How much have you achieved behind?

Johra ji replied with a laugh, “ I am young at heart despite having experience and age. I always try to learn something new in acting. I never miss any opportunity to learn from new artists.
